On the eve of her 17th birthday, Mari and friend Phyllis set off from her family home to the big city to attend a concert by shock-rockers Bloodlust. Attempting to pick up some marijuana on the way, the pair run afoul of a group of vicious crooks, headed up by the sadistic and depraved Krug (David Hess). Gagged and bound, the young women are bundled into a car trunk and driven to the woods, where the gang subject them to a terrifying ordeal of sexual humiliation, torture and murder.

Unleashed on an unsuspecting public in 1972, The Last House on the Left shocked audiences with its graphic and unflinching portrayal of interpersonal violence, paving the way for a whole host of cheap imitators looking to capitalise on its success. It is Wes Craven’s original alone, however, that remains one of the true watershed moments in horror (and indeed, film) history.

Da langt mir die Turbine, zudem ich den Film als Jugendlicher damals zuerst immer in Deutsch sah. Die zwei anderen Cuts sind auch fürn Arsch da zensiert.

Fand ich sehr mittelmässig und nach Kinobesuch nicht gekauft. Konnte ich recht wenig anfangen - mag dazu das Original viel zu sehr.

Meine Meinungen zu Wes Craven Werken


Last House On The Left
Klassiker des Terrorkinos. Grandioser David Hess in der Rolle des Psychopathen. Toller Soundtrack, z.T. auch von Hess selbst (gesungen). Turbine Vö ist top.

The Hills Have Eyes
Mag ich auch - obwohl mir hier das Remake etwas besser gefällt. Das Original ist halt einfach inszeniert, ein Low-Budget Film. Aber dadurch schön dreckiges Flair. Tolle Darbietung von Eierkopf Michael Berryman.

Tödlicher Segen
Fand ich spannend. Sekten Setting inklusive toller Traum-Alptraum-Szenen.

A Nightmare On Elm Street
Highlight (wie ganze Reihe). Kindheitserinnerung. Was hatte ich Angst beim Schauen - nur schon wegen der Musik.

The Hills Have Eyes 2
Durchschnitt. Kein Must See Titel. Kann es bei Teil 1 und dem Remake (auch hier langt Teil 1) sein lassen.

Der Tödliche Freund
Durchschnitt. In Erinnerung bleib mir nur die Szene mit dem platzenden Kopf.

Die Schlange im Regenbogen
Während Jugendzeit gesehen, gefiel mir nicht. Weiss nichts mehr über Film.

Shocker
80er Jahre Horror mit Akte-X Star als Bösewicht und cooler Mucke. Okay.

Das Haus der Vergessenen
Als Jugendlicher Erstsichtung. Fand ich spannend und innovativ, dazu schwarzer Humor und das perfekte Duo aus Twin Peaks. Mag die dt. Synchro sehr. Highlight.

Freddy New Nightmare

Scream
Highlight. Löste neue Teenie-Slasher Welle aus zu meiner Jugendzeit.

Scream 2
Nicht mehr ganz so stark und intensiv (vor allem die Auflösung), aber noch immer gut und sehenswert (Film im Film Motive zu Beginn, wenn auch nichts Neues im Genre).

Scream 3
Noch gut, aber deutlich schwächer als die ersten zwei. Zu viel Humor, zu zahm.

Scream 4
Im Kino gesehen - nicht als gut empfunden, kein Kauf.

MUSIC OF THE HEART = interessiert mich nur schon vom Genre nicht und den anderen kann ich nicht ernst nehmen wegen Murphy in dieser Rolle (geht nur in Beveryl Hills Cop)
