Writer/director Sunny Luk – who co-directed Cold War, Cold War II and Helios, along with Longmond Leung Lok-Man – is going solo for Crisis from the Safe City, an upcoming crime thriller from the Shanghai New Culture and CN Workshop Limited film companies.
Crisis from the Safe City stars – yes, you guessed it – Louis Koo (Call of Heroes, League of Gods), along with Nick Cheung (Keeper of Darkness, Hungry Ghost Ritual) and Raymond Lam (P Storm, Badges of Fury).
We’re unsure of the plot, but the film’s gritty Teaser poster (via AFS) includes the line “The most populous city in the world, A murder case onset panic in the city”, which potentially could be based on a true story.
