Comcast's El Rey network is planning a thirteen-episode "Latino James Bond" style series which TRANSFORMERS and STAR TREK co-scribe Roberto Orci is penning the first episode of. The story centers on a star soccer player and notorious playboy who doubles as a highly-skilled spy, carrying out covert missions for a special branch of the CIA.

Robert Rodriguez is on board to helm the pilot for the series, a project described as a big-budget adventure drama. The entire first season is said to boast a sizeable budget of over $40 million dollars. The project is currently targeting a late 2013 or early 2014 air date.

Irre Idee, die mir zwar in der Umsetzung wahrscheinlich nicht sonderlich gefallen wird, der ich aber dennoch entgegen fiebere. Ein deftiger Latino-Impact ist im TV nämlich längst überfällig.
